Thank you for inviting me to your forum on 7/16/22 at 4:00 pm. I look forward to meeting everyone and telling you all about myself, my experience, and my campaign.
I am Judge Darren Jackson and I currently serve on the NC Court of Appeals.
I attended our local NC public schools, college at UNC-CH, Duke for law school.
Then I started practicing law in Zebulon where for 25 years, I had a small town legal practice. From small claims court to the NC Supreme Court, I have done cases in all levels of our courts. I believe I am the only candidate in the race for seat 11 that can say that.
I also have 12 years of experience in NC General Assembly fighting for working people and against bad ideas and legislation.
The last 4 of those years, I was the House Democratic Leader where I campaigned across this state to break the supermajority and run competitive races everywhere in this state.
For the last 18+ months I have served as a judge on the Court of Appeals where I have put all these experiences to work.
In fact, I am the only candidate for Seat 11 that has actually ever filed an appeal or done any work in front of the NC Court of Appeals or the NC Supreme Court. I have filed and argued cases in both state and federal courts including arguing (and winning) a case in front of the NC Supreme Court.
When I accepted this appointment, a friend said that I had spent 12 years fighting for justice in the General Assembly, now was my opportunity to do justice. That’s what I try and do every day. Somedays its harder than others.
I am running statewide for the first time. I am lucky to be running with a great slate of Democrats, all experienced judges, running statewide for judgeships on the Court of Appeals and as Justices on the NC Supreme Court.
We will all need your help in November. Don’t forget the judges. Let’s get everyone to the polls.
Remember when everyone votes, we win.
Thank you.

Thank you Judge Jackson!
We look forward to seeing you on July 16th. Fighting for working people and against bad ideas and legislation is, of course, of great interest to us.
Justice Beasley will be attending and speaking to our community at 4:00 pm. She needs to “clock out” by 4:25 pm and then you have center stage. Gale Murray Adams (candidate NC Court of Appeals Seat 10) will be attending as well. We look forward to hearing how what you both do on the Court of Appeals affects the citizens of Brunswick County.
Brunswick County contains many rural communities, in person meetings are problematic and we have found that the best way to disseminate information is via the internet. We will be recording our forums and making them available to the public by providing links to them on our website. Our president, Mr. Parker, has given permission to our political action committee to share them with other communities and counties in North Carolina. If recording and sharing your information this way poses a problem, please let me know and we’ll take the steps necessary to accommodate you.
Thank you,
Karen Richardson
